Boy I am sounding like a broken record, but you guest it more rain.The rain just stayed away long enough for the boy's to set up and me to sort the bait , and tidy up after last weeks rain.

Sunday morning was dry and over cast. the boy's had 5 fish on sunday night with the biggest fish falling to shane  a 42 -06 mirror. Sunday afternoon more rain and the water temp was 15, but considing the amount  of water coming through the lake it wasn't bad.Tuesday night more rain, wednesday morning more rain but the weather was to improve by Thurday, the forecast was 26 but we ended up with 30 the water temp was now 19 and fish crashing out all over the lake.  One of the boy's didn't arrive on Saturday due to work commitments, so I asked the boy's if they minded if I  had a fish mid week, they said no problem.

My  plan was to only fish 2 rods tight to the snag's they would be locked up rock solid with 12oz leads , one rod would be on a single 14mm and the other rod would be on 3 grains of maze. It paid off at 2-30am with my right hand rod, a stunning 41-02 common, the maze did the trick.

On a walk round the lake on Thursday afternoon I saw fish feeding down the point so I headed back to the lodge, grabed 2 roods and had a couple of hours down there, a lovely 35 mirror after only 5 minutes, that will do nicely.

Friday morning was stunning, with mist rising over the lake and fish crashing out. Just before breakfast Jamie lost what he said was a monster that done him on a snag in the lodge swim, he had done 18 fish and stil 24hrs. to go.

Chris and me going down to the point later to see if we can put a fish on the bank for him, as there were loads of fish still down there on friday afternoon. I was just cooking breakfast I got a call on the radio it was Charlie with a 40+, so the bacon was on hold while I went round to see what it was, his PB. a common of 45lb known as "PATCH".

The temp after breakfast was 25 and was making a great change from all that rain. Well its Saturday morning and the boy's are all packed up, they ended up with 59 fish and 6 dropped and 3 snaged . Biggest fish came to Charile 45lb common." well done charile" top rod was jamie with 20 fish great fishing jamie it just shows if you put the effort in you get the results

Our average for the week was 30-06lb.
