WEEK 4 20-04-2013 TO 27-04-2013
This week Surge, Rolf, Nigle and Steve were coming back and I was looking forward to another great week. The weather was looking good with temperatures ranging from 0 to 10 degrees during the night and 17 to 26 degrees during the day, what a change from a couple of weeks ago.By mid week the water temperature was 16 and the fish were crashing all over the lake. I have not seen so many carp crashing like that for a long time. Surge and Rolf fished on 61, Steve went in the boat house and Nigel went in R1. Paul my Bailiff went in R2, I was back in the lodge. The week started of well with Paul taking the first fish a 31lb mirror at 5-30am then at 7-45am a cracking 42-08lb mirror from R2. Then Rolf and Surge were on the fish with Surge taking a 43-03lb mirror with Rolf just behind him with a 34lb mirror. I took 2 fish a 35lb mirror and a 30lb mirror from the lodge, I can't believe no one wants to fish the Lodge, come on Boy's it's a great swim?. Surge and Rolf were steady on the fish. Rolf taking 3 30's a 38-12lb mirror, 37-10lb mirror and a 34-10lb mirror then Surge smashed his PB a stomping lipsmacker mirror of 57lb. Paul was still on the fish in R2, Little Steve was still trying in the Boathouse, he had fish all over his baits but just couldn't get a take. Surge and Rolf had to get back to Holland and left Thursday morning. They ended up with 7 fish on 61 with an average of just over 40lb , they went home very happy and can't wait to get back next year. Surge will be back for the BOSSARD and SONIK MASTERS as a marshal. Steve got on the fish just before he had to home to watch the rugby taking a 31-08lb mirror, then just before packing up on Thursday a cracking 38-08lb mirror and then he dropped one. By Thursday we had banked 28 fish to 57lb including 5 40+. RB's was fishing well with 4 fish to Remco. But M2 wasn't fishing. I don't know if it was down to the lake or the anglers? Thursday the weather changed again and we had cold NW winds and once again the rain came, it rained for over 29hours non stop!. Well Saturday again and the fishing this week was better than I expected with 7 40+ fish and a stomping Lipsmacker mirror of 57lb we had 5 dropped and our average for the week was 35-06lbs. I would like to thank all the Boy's for a trouble free week and looking after my fish.
