week 4 21-4-2012-to-28-4-2012

01/05/2012

Well, I haven't seen rain like that for a long time, the guy's looked like drowned rats by the end of the week.

The road into the lake was flooded and the road to the lodge was also under water. The water fall by the lodge looked more like nigra falls. The temp. didn't get much above 5 at night with one heavy frost and 10 to 11 during the day.

The swims took a  drenching and became like sponges from the amount of rain we had this week. i could not get the water quick enough out of the lake, I had to drop 3 boards to let the water out.

The over flow has been working over time, by the end of the week I managed to get the lake level back to normal.

With all that cold water pushing through the lake the fish didn't want to play. but the anglers all worked hard and still managed 30 fish, with 7 droped and 2 lost in the snags, with an average of 31-06.

Considering the weather I think the boys did very well, with Nick being top rod with 10 fish, which all came from the east arm of the lake. he also broke his PB 3 times, so WELL DONE NICK.

Biggest fish come to Nigel with a cracking 48-02 mirror from the snags. Paul was the only angler to blank this week but did lose one, the rest of the guy's all took fish.

The weather was so bad this week I also had to go to my friends lake on thursday to pull 6 dutch anglers out from the mud as they had enough rain to last them a life time and just wanted to go home.

I would like to thank everyone looking at our new web site and by the bookings it seems to be workinng well.

Top pages are Steve's Blog and the Map of the lake , we've had over 90,500 pages looked at this month already.

The tree's are now looking really green, but the pads are still slow we just need the water temp to rise above 16 and I am sure the fishing will improve.

I like to thank all the guy's for a great weeks fishing and social and can't wait till you're back next year.
