WEEK 19 03-07-2013 TO 10-07-2013

17/08/2013

BOSSARD AND SONIK MASTERS. It is Friday and the competitors have started  arriving, and  we were just about finished getting all the flags up. Everyone  was excited  and with competitiors from U.S.A, Germnay, Holland , Wales,  France and England,  it will be an event not to be missd! The weather on friday was hot and sunny and temputures for the week in the upper 30's, this was the only thing that could slow the fishing down. After regstation the anglers were allowed to walk round the lake to get some idea of were they would like to fish, after everyone was back we had a champagne welcome B.B.Q, and then the anglers drew a number to decide in what order they would come up  to draw their swim on Saturday. It now Saturday the day the comptition and Hans my head Marshal told the  anglers how the competiton would run i.e. rules, weighing of the fish etc. and grass carp were not allowed due to the hot weather and were to be unhooked in the water and let go with  no photo.   There were 4 section's on the lake with a Marshal for weighing the fish etc. After the B.B.Q and champagne  the competitors would  be asked to come up to draw there swim in order they had picked the day before . After th draw I thunk most of the competitors were happy with what they had picked including 3 anglers picking there perferred choice! Once the draw was finished the anlers were eager to get to there swims to set up. The start of the competition would be a rocket at 1800hrs. and each day at 12 noon 2 gun shots to signal lunch and 2 gun shots at 1400hrs to start fishing again. First on the fish was "Nick Burrage" from Team Vardis Tackle England in Steve's then Kirk Ridgway in the Lodge "England". The fishing was slow but the anglers were all very positive as the day's proressed fish were coming from all  ends of the lake with R.B's left and right taking fish but the only problem was out of the 9 fish they had they only  landed 1 and that went to the french angler Romain, We ended up with 14 large grass carp to well over 40lbs all were return safely. Barry in 62 and Steve in Banzais couldnt get on the carp but did manage to bank 3 big grass carp each. Kurt Bond from the U.S.A banked 2 big grass carp and 2 carp to take 3rd. Kurt fishes a lot of competitons in the U.S.A and is sponsered by K1 Baits and Carp innovations. Kirk Ridgway in 2nd palce was from England and 1st place was Nick Burrage for Team Vardis "England" with a total weight of 264-08lbs, Nick also had biggest fish and went home with 2000€ for all his  hard work. Kirk takes home 750€for 2nd and Kurt 500€ for 3rd. The prize giving and presentation meal went down fanstic and the live music was second to none . a few anglers got very merry and a good time was had by all . The competitors have 2 weeks to conirm their entry to next year's competition and then I will open what's left to a first come first seved, so boy's if you fancy a go next year get your name down fast! to what will be the best competition in the world (probably).

I would like to thank all the sponsers,SONIK,ACE TACKLE,DAIWA,CARP INNOVATIONS,VARDIS,DYNAMITE BAITS AND PAYELLE CHAMPANE. looking forward to next year!!!
