WEEK 9 26-5-2012 TO 02-6-2012
Well week 9 and the fish have now spawned. it started at 5-30am Monday and was on and off all week. I think they will still have another go.
The weather was hot all week between 24 to 29, the water temperature was 25 on the top and the bottom temperature was 24.
There was plenty of fish sunbathing in the snaggs and in the east and west arms of the lake. Some of the anglers found it hard going at the start of the week but started taking fish towards the end of the week. Only one angler blanked and he has only himself to blame, he had 4 takes and lost 2 in the snags, as he couldn't get to his rods quick enough, maybe he'll have his bivvy closer to his rods next time!
I have noticed some of the anglers sleeping well after first light, come on boy's set your alarm clocks!.
We are still having a small problem with some of the anglers not fishing locked up on the snags and not using big leads! if you are not sure please ask!
61 is not fishing well at the moment. It is not produced as many fish as last year at this time and is not the most productive swim anymore, but I don't think its all down to the fish , weather or conditions? '' do the maths''
Wednesday I spent some time with Terry as he has only been carp fishing for 1 year and was struggling, I changed his rigs and bait and showed him how to use P.V.A foam nuggets, and then showed him how to break his Grey's platinum rod, he was very understanding! '' SORRY TERRY''. Terry said don't worry I send it back to greys!
Terry ended up with 2 fish to 33lb which was his Pb and dropped 1. He went home very happy. ''Well done Terry''.
All swims fished bar 1 took fish and the boy's ended up with 31 fish for the week, our average was 31-06lb Biggest fish came to Alex a 43lb mirror from 61 ''well done Alex''.
Top rod was Oz with 9 fish from M.2. I would just like to thank Oz for catching the most stunning 42-12lb common I have seen for a long time''well done mate''.
We had 9 dropped fish and 2 lost in the snaggs. I would like to thank all the guys for looking after my fish and not chasing my fish when spawning. See you next year.
