WEEK 8 18-05-2013 TO 25-05-2013

26/05/2013

The weather for the weak really couldn't get any worse. The rain just kept coming and the water level of the lake had risen by 6". Two of my swims had flooded, Steve's and 61. But they were still fisherball. We've even had a couple of calls were guy's have had their fishing cancelled due to the lake's being flooded, not 40 miniutes from us. The weather is not making fishing as good as it could be. By now the water temputure should be 16 to 17 but it is only just 13! First fish out was a 41-08lb mirror to Kevin in M2, then a stunning 39-12lb common to Jason in the Lodge. Then  Ben in 61 had a 40-04lb mirror. There now was so much water coming through the lake, the fish had switched off they were not even crashing out. The rain stopped Tuesday morning and gave the boy's a  reprever, so they could get out  of their bivvy's for a while. Well that dident last for long the rain came back with a vengence, and the tempututre was just getting colder. The forcast for the rest of the week was more rain and temputures going down to 1 at night and maximin of 8 during the day. you wouldn't know it was mid may, you would think it was October. By Wednesday we had only 7 fish out. By Thursday we had only 10 fish out  and 3 dropped, but we did have  3 x 40lb+  fish out so the guy's we quite happy as the conditions were so wet and cold . As i write my blog the rain is still with us, I hope the guy's next week have better weather  than the boy's have had this week. Even with the water temputure so cold for this time of year the male carp are starting to show signs of milking in the un- hooking mats, lets hope the water tempututre starts to improve so they can get spawning out of the way. Well by the end of the week the boy's  had put 16 fish on the  bank withan avarage of 35-0lb,not bad for the conditions. Saturday morning was dry for the boy's to pack up, so at least their bivvy's were dry to go home with. I like to thank all the boy's for a great week and looking after my fish and swims, and see you same time next year ,lets hope the weather is better!!!.
