Well Saturday again and week 8. I was looking forward to this week as i was going to fish a couple of nights to the end of the week. All the boy's this week are first timers at Bossard except Simon he came last year and is coming back in September 2012 with his group of anglers.

The weather was sunny and hot on Saturday so all the boy's were hot and sticky after setting up. The boy's picked their swims without a draw again. Simon waited till everyone had picked their swims and dropped into the Lodge, which was probably not a good thing for me as he brings plenty of cider and we will end up having a few.''Boy it does taste good though''.

Sunday night we had a big thunder storm and yes more rain!. "2 of the dutch guys locked themselves in the van.''Big Baby's''.

Monday morning and summer has arrived with temperatures up to 31 during the day and 12-14 at night. The water temperature went from 17 -20. in 2 days,and the fish went off the bait for a bit, once the water temperature had stabilized the fish came back on the feed. Mid week everybody had taken fish and on Thursday at the BBQ we had a great time with Hennie doing his interpretation of Windsor Davis '' It ant aff hot mum'' champagne all round with the guy's braking their PB's.

Friday morning at breakfast i said to the guy's that i felt we would still do 10 fish by Saturday morning I was wrong we did 11 , so well done guy's great fishing!

I ended up 2 nights in the boathouse. I let Vincent from tight squeeze put 1 rod into my swim and I would fish short with only 2 rods 1 at 30 yards out by the pads and the other to the left of me by the dame wall. On the second night about 3-30am i heard a big fish crash-out by the boat, so I reeled in and placed a bait where the fish had crashed out, at 5-35am I had a take and a 43-08 mirror on the bank, that will do nicely!! i ended with 2 30s to 36 a 41-00 2 tone comman and the 43-08 mirror not bad for 18 hours fishing . We ended up with 33 fish for the week. Top rod was Simon with 9 fish from the Lodge and biggest fish came to Gideon in Tight Squeeze a 47-08 mirror. all swims fished took fish with no one blanking. Our average for the week was 32lb 06ozs. We had 8 dropped fish and 2 lost in the snags.

The weather looks to be more stable next week and there's a good chance the fish will spawn.

I would like to thank all the guy's bar one as I had too ban him for using Brade as a leader, which is not acceptable!!

I am looking forward for the dutch Guy's when they return next year and Simon in September 2012.

Just a quick note the fish started spawning at 5-30am Monday morning 28-5-12
